Gynecomastia is a frequent condition, specially in puberty and adulthood, however, it produces an important degree of social anxiety and discomfort in patients. Most of the time, it is not challenging to make a clinical diagnosis, but it can be the initial manifestation of a great number of major medical conditions impor tant for a patient’s prognosis. It is of capital importance to make the differential diagnosis with masculine breast cancer, and although this is an exceptional entity, it can be totally resolved with early treatment. This ar ticle reviews the most important aspects to consider in the clinical and therapeutic approach of this condition.
