A retrospective analysis of 22 pregnant patients having acute appendicitis surgically treated in the Hospital Clínico de la Universidad de Chile in a tour year period was done. The disease was present in 1: 373 borns, most of them in the second trimester, a median mother's age of 29. 9 years and average of 20.3 gestational weeks. The classical and laparoscopic technique were done without complications. There was one case of fetal death because of sepsis.
