Bone Bank Tissue: Obtainment and housing of bona graft
We present the clínical experience of more than six years of the Bone Bank of the Hospital Clínico de la Universidad de Chile. Due to this bone stock deposit we count with an important amount of bone reserve obtained from femoral heads of primary total hip arthroplasties performed in selected patients.
The function of this entity is based upon a controled protocol of selection, obtainment and housing methods to lay out any condition that may diminish the success of the procedure. In our work's team it has fundamentaly been used in revision surgery for failed total hip replacement. From the clinic and cost reduction point of the view the results at follow up are encouraging.
