Abordaje videotoracoscópico del Nódulo Pulmonar Solitario: su rol diagnóstico y terapéutico

Abstract

35 coses with the diagnosis of Solitory Pulmonory Nodule (NPSJ fhat were studied from 1996 to september 2000, are reviewed. lnifially the diagnosis wos made with a simple radiogrophy. Then 33 (94%) continued the study with CT ond confirmed through videothoracoscopy biopsy. In 10 potients molignant tumors were diagnosed, in which 6 were adenocarcinomo, 3 scomous cell carcinoma and 1 adenoescamous carcinoma. We performed oncologic surgery os a complement to ali of the cases that initiolly were informed as malignant nodules (13 cases). After the diagnosis of NPS, fhe frecuency of malignant nodules demands a histologicall study. This study suggests the major role of fhe VTS in t he diagnosis and adecuate treatment of NPS.
