Pharyngolaryngeal Gastroesophageal Reflux.
Gastroesophageal Reflux (GER) constitutes a prevalent disease that can be associated with esophageal and extraesophageal complications. The recognition of the diverse manifestations of this disease is important in order to facilita te the diagnosis and treatment and to decrease to the maximum the progression of those complications.
When GER has otolaryngeal manifestations it is called Pharyngolaryngeal Reflux which is associated with a great variety of clinical manifestations. We presented the case of a patient with severe pharyngolaryngeal re.flux manifested as chronic hyperplastic laryngitis.
Furthermore, a revision of pharyngolaryngeal reflux syndrome is analysed: it's clinical physiopathology, diagnosis, treatment and established relationship between laryngeal cancer and
reflux.
