The cytologic Papanicolatt exam or "Pap test" has a deserving position as a tool in the early detection of cancer of the neck of the uterus and it 's application signifies a decisive breackthrough in the fight
against cancer. lt is necessary, however, to specify that this technique does not constitute "insurance against cancer'' and that with the passage of time it's strengths and weaknesses have become evident; these have to be taken into consideration in order to optimize it 's efficacity to the maximum.
