Risks in transfusion therapy and specially in AIDS, are important reasons in the use of technics that will permit minimal use of homologous blood in the case of surgical procedures related with considerable loss of blood. The
maintenance of a normovolemin and a controlled anemia are of primary importance in order to preserve the oxigen transport in adecuate levels. A strict monitoring of the patient is always necessary.
