Mondor's diseose is a rore entny characterized by thromboph/ebitis of the subcutaneous veins of the anterolateral thoraco-obdominal wa/1. The manifestations are a painful subcutaneous cord, visible by the retraction of the surrounding tissues. This condition is usual/y a benign and self-limited process, atthough it has been associated with breast cancer. We report the case of a 39 year old woman who had acute thoraco-obdominal pain, associated /afer with a tender palpable cord. The diagnosis was made on the basis of clinical and Doppler ultrasonography findings. A bibliographic review of the described cases was made, enhancing the need to exclude malignancies and hypercoagulable states.
