This paper discuss, from a f inancial perspective, the main trends that the chilean health sector will face in the next 30 years. lt briefly analyse the consequences of the demographlc transition in health demand, the changes in the patient behavior and the difficulties in an increase of the financial resources.
lt is concluded that an oportunity far perinatal medicine emerges from the stability in the younger population. On the other side, scarse financial resources, and an elderly rising demand must be a future matter of concern.
