In this review article the following aspects of gastric and esophageal cancer are analysed: epidemiology, ethiology, pathology and prognostic factors.
For therapeutic decissions the staging is of paramount importance and surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are discussed as single or combined therapeutic modalities.
